Synopsis
The book is a humorous take on my first year of marriage with the added challenge of having moved to Japan six days after the wedding. I knew nothing about the culture or the language outside of being a fan of sushi, I knew nothing about marriage outside of watching "Thirtysomething". The book is organized into sections relating to domestic chores with an eye towards a self effacing evaluation of what happens when nothing fits; not the clothes, the language, the look, the sense of humor, the mindset. How I coped with awkward situations and learned to become comfortable being somebody’s wife without losing my sense of self.
